Price comes to $699 with free shipping, in its base configuration. Free shipping applies only after logging in as a business customer. This is a pretty good deal, and a little cheaper than a similar deal offered in Dell Home on a nearly identical laptop.

A glossy Truelife screen improves color, brightness, and contrast making a better image for graphics and movies especially in low-light or ambient lit rooms, but can be more reflective than a normal screen. A non-glossy regular screen is probably better for using in rooms with a light source behind you, because it is less reflective.

Some upgrades to consider:
  • Upgrading 1 year mail-in to a 2 year on-site warranty for $75 more.
  • Adding a 9-cell battery to the existing 6-cell battery for $79 more, a good deal since the 9-cell usually costs about $143 by itself.
  • Upgrading from Dual Core T2060 1.6GHz to a Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz for $125 more. A Core 2 Duo CPU should give about a 20% performance increase over a Dual Core CPU at the same GHz speed, at a price of about 20% more.
A 14" notebook computer weighs about a pound less than a 15". Built-in wireless is standard amongst most notebook computers on the market today.
